Series of the Decade: 2009 Stanley Cup Final Penguins over Wings- A 7 game classic which was a rematch of the 2008 finals that saw Sid the Kid, one of the two biggest stars in the NHL, win his first cup and knock off the team of the decade. Runners Up: 2004 finals, 2001 finals, 2003 finals, 2006 finals

Story of the Decade: 2004-2005 season lost to Lockout: As the NHL was starting to gain momentum and establish itself as one of the big 4 sports they lose an entire season to a labor dispute. Not only did it cost them many fans but it cost them their tv deal and now their main Television partner is Versus a network which many Americans do not have on their packages.
Runners Up: Sid and Alex, The Olympics, and Goonery/Fighting
